Description of the project: Pancevo, a city not very far from the capital, is typical town in Vojvodina, more than 900 years old, situated on left bank of river Tamis. City has many cultural events. One of them is International Carnival, with hundreds of multinational participants, which is now already a tradition of this small town. This event takes place in the middle of June, and this year it will be held, from 20-22 June, for the fifth time.
In Pancevo there are a numerous cultural and historical monuments.  As one of the institutional buildings, Youth Centre of Pancevo, in the past few years has been renovated and since then the green surface surrounding the centre has been damaged.  Our goal is to redecorate this small park, and besides that, build some kind of fence that will keep green surface clean in future, from cars which are passing nearby. Also the other part of the project is redesigning of the “Goranski Park” near the railway station and Sport Centre of Pancevo.
Work:Volunteers will work on the cleaning and arranging the green surfaces in “Youth Centre Park” and “Goranski Park”. Job includes reconstruction, renovation and maintenance of paths in the park. Daily work will be 5-6 hours, weekends are free.
Free Time Activities: Afternoon and weekend activities will be arranged among the agreement with volunteers.
Accommodation: Volunteers will sleep under the tents (if you have one, you may bring it). Sleeping bags are necessary. Toilets and showers are provided nearby. Volunteers will have to prepare their dinner; breakfast and lunch will be organized by host.
Language: English.
Location: In a small town Pancevo, 15 km from Belgrade.
Terminal: Train or bus station in Pancevo.
Special requirements: No special qualifications are required. All people of good will are welcomeJ
Special remarks: Bring working gloves, some sun protection and a swimming suit. Remember to bring sleeping bags! You are also welcome to take with you some typical games and/or food from your country! There will be organized traditional evenings where you could present your home country.
